Abstract
At the March 2026 WTO Ministerial, India blocked the adoption of the Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement, a plurilateral initiative backed by 131 members, including 94 developing countries. India stood alone after South Africa and Türkiye withdrew their objections. This brief article suggests guardrails that should make it possible for India to reconsider its position.
